Assistant Extension Professor - Forest Management
The Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at NC State University is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12-month, professional-track, faculty position in forestry with emphasis on forest management (silviculture) and non-industrial private forestry. This appointment is at the assistant professor level and is 100% Extension. Expertise in wildlife conservation and climate resiliency is preferred. The successful applicant will be a part of the department’s 10-person Extension Forestry team of 4 faculty and 6 staff. This position is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, but requires travel throughout North Carolina. The successful applicant will provide leadership in designing, implementing and evaluating public educational programs consistent with the philosophy, policy, and overall educational objectives of North Carolina Cooperative Extension. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and delivering educational programming to diverse audiences, including stakeholders from different socio-demographic groups and with varied background knowledge of forest management.
