NAUFRP Statement:  The recently released report of the US Endowment for Forestry and Communities’ Blue Ribbon Commission on Forest and Forest Products Research and Development in the 21st Century underscores the need to bolster our capacity to solve the problems facing our forests and associated forest products industry.  The Commissioners have done an admirable job of describing the current state of forestry research and development.  Their central message recommending major changes in forest sector R&D resonates very positively with our university-based forest resources programs.  We

NAUFRP is a member of the Forests in the Farm Bill Coalition.  The Coalition released its platform for the 2018 Farm Bill on July 20, 2017.  Read more about the Coalition platform here 

The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) of the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released a new report on March 27th that measured the effectiveness of investments in America’s land-grant universities through food and agriculture research, extension, and education projects. The report, National Evaluation of Capacity Programs, was prepared by TEConomy Partners.
