Description

FRP Representatives are invited to join for a Town Hall meeting on April 6, 2022 to meet with USDA Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation Robert Bonnie who will discuss forestry and natural resource climate initiatives. The virtual meeting will be 1:00-2:00 Eastern time. Details will be made available. Questions in the meantime can be directed to NAUFRP President Janaki Alavalapati (Auburn University) or Terri Bates, NAUFRP Executive Liaison.

The NAUFRP Executive Committee plans an in-person meeting in Washington, DC on May 23 and 24. The meeting will be held at the office of Washington Counsel Randy Nuckolls: Dentons, 19th & K Streets, Washington, D.C. 20006. Hotel rooms have been blocked at the Hotel Lombardy. The Department of Ecosystem Science and Management (ESM) invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor of Forestry. This is a non‐tenure line position with a 60% teaching and 40% extension appointment. The initial term is for three‐years with an excellent chance for regular renewals contingent on satisfactory job performance. The position comes with  competitive salary based on 36‐weeks of service annually, which can be supplemented with additional salary up to a total of 48 weeks from external competitive grants and contract and/or from endowment funds.

This is a 9-month tenure-track position with 65%/35% research/teaching responsibilities and a joint appointment in both the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences (75%) and College of Veterinary Medicine (25%).
