Today, the Faculty embodies a comprehensive offering of undergraduate and graduate programs that cover a breadth of disciplines and programs including wood products science, natural resources, conservation, forest sciences, Indigenous initiatives, urban forestry, and forest resources management. The Faculty’s programs model the broad spectrum of topics that relate to forests’ interplay between the environment and all those who live on the planet.
The new Dean will bring a successful track record in significant administrative roles in research intensive universities. The Dean will have a strong track record in research and teaching, which they will bring to bear in their role in promoting excellence in both. A strategic leader with the capacity and vision to build on the momentum that the Faculty has achieved in recent years, the new Dean will be collaborative and have exceptional interpersonal skills. The new Dean’s background and credentials will merit an appointment as full professor in the Faculty of Forestry at UBC.
